“How to Buy or Sell a Business” Seminar

One of our partners, Don Swick, will be a speaker at an upcoming seminar hosted by The Michigan Small Business Development Center. This seminar will be on the many aspects of purchasing or selling a business.

Who is the seminar for?

The seminar is aimed at business owners and others who desire to learn about acquiring or selling a business. Accountants, attorneys, business brokers, financial planners, CEOs, CFOs, will also benefit from this conference.

Muskegon Lakeshore’s “Future 15”

The ‘Future 15’ are celebrated and recognized as up and coming young professionals that are making a difference along the Muskegon Lakeshore. The public is allowed to nominate anyone under age 40 who lived or worked in Muskegon County and excelled within their places of employment and in the community. There were about 50 nominations that came in this year. There is a six-member panel that whittled down the nominees to a list of 15 up-and-coming leaders.

Kerry Halloran, supervisor and CPA, was recently named a Muskegon Lakeshore’s “Future 15”. Muskegon has a very close business community. According to the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, this list is compiled of up and coming young professionals in the area. A selection committee in Muskegon consisting of seven young professionals that were among the 2013 Future 15 award recipients, determined who this years ‘Future 15’ would be. She was recognized at the Business After Hours Event held at the USS Submarine Museum in Muskegon on June 19.

Don DeLong’s Trip to Uganda

This February, Don DeLong had the opportunity to take a trip to Uganda. This was his third trip there, as he is involved in the Gulu Uganda Country Dairy Project. This project aims to help the people of Uganda produce quality milk and improve nutrition and build business. He spent the majority of the trip at the farm; however, he took a Gorilla trekking excursion at Gwindi National Park.

Movies on the Beach

The second annual Movies on the Beach at Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon begins on June 28. Pre-movie music by The Other Brothers will begin at 8:00pm, and the movie, “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”, will being at 9:30pm. The event is free; however, donations will be accepted for the rescue mission. If you have not come in the past, it is a fun community event for the whole family.

Muskegon Movies on the Beach!

Looking for something in Muskegon that’s free and fun that the whole family can enjoy? On Saturday, August 25, come out to the Pere Marquette beach in Muskegon to watch the movie How to Train Your Dragon. As stated earlier, it is a free event and open to the public. Bring chairs, blankets, and munchies and spend your night with family and or friends on the beach.
